PADI Scuba Diver is the first PADI scuba diving course. It is in fact a subset of the PADI Open Water Diver course. If you’re short on time but really want to become a diver, the PADI Scuba Diver rating might be right for you ̶ particularly if you expect to go scuba diving primarily with a dive guide. This course is an intermediate step for earning an Open Water Diver certification, if that’s your ultimate goal. It is a really good alternative to discovery dives because your dives will be registered. You can therefore complete your training later, in any other PADI dive center in the world, to obtain your PADI Open Water Diver certification.
An Open Water diver can plan and execute dives with a certified buddy, divemaster or instructor, to a maximum depth of 18 meters.
A Scuba Diver may only dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional, to a maximum depth of 12 meters.
To enroll in a PADI Scuba Diver course (or Junior Scuba Diver course), you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required, but you can try it first through the Discover Scuba Diving program.
The PADI Scuba Diver course consists of three main phases:
With Warnakali, PADI 5 star dive resort, confined water dives are carried out in the center swimming pool, in Nusa Penida, Bali. First in the small pool, then in 3 meters deep. This is a very good way indeed to train in a safe environment. And the infinity pool is an exceptional viewpoint, just in front of the sea and Mount Agung !
The open water dives take place around the island of Nusa Penida. Nusa Penida dive sites are some of the most beautiful diving spots in Bali and even in Indonesia. You may even, if the conditions allow it, dive with manta rays.
You learn to use basic scuba gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device and a tank. The equipment you wear varies, depending upon whether you’re diving in tropical, temperate or cold water. Your Warnakali Instructor will explain the equipment you need and may suggest additional educational materials, such as the required logbook.
Breathing underwater for the first time is something you’ll never forget, so don’t wait.
